Now available for sale is this original G Plan vintage cocktail chair. We have fully restored and upholstered this easy chair, and it's now looking for a new home.
We have newly upholstered this chair in a lovely sunny yellow canvas cotton from Kirkby Design, which has a soft, brushed finish. The legs have been refinished in a matt black to create a striking look.
This chair is a Florrie + Bill one-off exclusive piece so there is only one available. It's priced at £625. Shop the yellow G Plan cocktail chair here while stocks last.
Now available for sale are these original vintage lounge chairs. We have fully restored and upholstered these chairs to give them a new lease of life.
They have been newly upholstered in a lovely soft UK felted wool, one in a fresh vibrant mustard yellow, the other in a subtle dove grey. The legs have been refreshed to the natural beech wood tone to complete the look.
I loved this yellow marl wool so much when I used it on a vintage armchair earlier this year, that I knew I had to use it again on something else. Along came a couple of retro Parker Knoll rocking chairs and I knew that I would use the yellow wool on one of those.
We have completely restored this Parker Knoll rocking chair, bringing it back up to date using a UK pure new felted wool.
The original beech wood frame has been refinished to a warm walnut tone, with a slight sheen - which complements the colour of the mustard yellow wool. The wool itself has a marl effect with grey strands running through it, which tones down the overall effect.
This chair is just so comfortable and those sweeping rockers provide the ultimate rocking motion. I could easily lose a few hours in this chair to a good book, or a snooze. It's compact size makes it perfect for the lounge, bedroom or even a nursery.
As ever, this is a Florrie + Bill one-off exclusive piece so there is only one available. It's priced at £655 - so go and get it before its gone! Shop online here.
I recently teamed up with Danish retailer JYSK to do an Urban Jungle inspired photoshoot, using one of our restored vintage chairs and accessories from the JYSK homewares range. I have a local JYSK store, and shop there often and I love the quality and affordability of their pieces. JYSK is still owned by the original founder, Lars Larsen, who is known throughout Denmark as the country's leading merchant who always has 'a great offer'. The first store was opened in 1979 in Denmark, and following its success, today the JYSK Group comprises more than 2,400 stores in 48 countries worldwide.
Being a monochrome interiors fan (and someone who is also partial to a few houseplants), the Urban Jungle theme was the perfect choice for me. I chose simple, monochrome accessories and added some natural wood details to complement the chair legs and tie the scheme together. A few selected plants and my trusty palm brought the look together. My personal take on this scheme is somewhat pared-back, not overly fussy but shows each piece off individually.
I picked our restored vintage armchair in yellow wool to style on this occasion as I thought this colour would look really fresh teamed with the green plants, monochrome accessories and bright white floors and walls.
For the side table I chose the BAKKEBJERG tray table - which is such great value at just £16.99. The top is painted MDF but it has solid pine legs (which you could paint a colour of your own choice if you wanted to match it to your own decor!). It's great quality and can be used in many rooms.
I love the simplicity and the ribbed detail of the ODDMUND flower pots which are available in both black and white. Perfect for smaller houseplants, and are just £2.49 each. They look great on their own, or styled with smaller vases such as the AUDUN vase, shown here in grey which is £1.79.
I couldn’t resist the little AMDAHL cactus ornament - such a perfect dark green colour and a great silouhette to peek out from underneath those trailing houseplants. It looks like an expensive piece, but costs only £2.49.
The TORKILD decorative box, which looks like a mini house is definitely the most versatile piece. I have used it in this shoot, placed on the floor with a plant inside. But it could also house some smaller succulents in pots, candles, other trinkets, or perhaps hooked onto the wall to use as a mini-shelf. It’s priced at £6.99, and you could buy 2 or 3 and place them together.
The BERRIT black 2-tier clay hanging planter is the perfect matt black with black cord to tie up and hang off a hook from the ceiling. I have styled it here with them joined together, but at home (and as our ceilings are quite low) I have actually split them into 2 separate hanging planters and put them in separate rooms. And a bargain at just £8.49! Yes, that is for the two!
The GODVIN glass and black metal picture frames are so special. They open out so you can pop in your own flowers, notes, pictures or keepsakes in them. I have styled it here with some fern from our garden. I imagine I will be using these for all sorts of things in the future. They are currently on offer priced at only £3.49 each and are also available in a brass colour.
The black HEROLD bamboo basket, £6.99 can be used for so many things, but here I have added it to my palm planter to add some interest and contrast against the white floor.
Last, but not least, I love these simple VILHEM hanging flower pots, which are ceramic and are attached to the wall by a small piece of cord, which are just £3.99 each. I added Aloe Vera to my pot, but it would look great with some hanging plants draping over the side, and maybe 2 or 3 together on a wall. They also come in dark grey too.
JYSK certainly offer some great value for money accessories which can easily, and affordably update your living space. They do have some UK stores, but most items can also be purchased online on their website at JYSK.CO.UK.
